HïngNing County 興寧縣
Xingning (simplified Chinese: 兴宁; traditional Chinese: 興寧; pinyin: Xīngníng) is a county-level city, under the jurisdiction of Meizhou, in Guangdong province of the People's Republic of China.

Xingning used to be called Qichang (齐昌).

Xingning county was established in 331 CE.
Xingning was the capital of the 10th-century Southern Han Dynasty.
Long a county, Xingning was upgraded to County-level city within the municipal purview of Meizhou in 1991.

Xingning is located in eastern part of Guangdong province, to the north - ie inland and upland.
Xingning borders the counties of Pingyuan, Meixian, Fengshun and Wuhua, all in Meizhou; Longchuan in Heyuan Municipality; and Xunwu in Ganzhou Municipality, Jiangxi.

Xingning is the second largest city in east Guangdong, with an area of 2105 km2; and a population of 1.13 million. The city governs 29 towns/townships containing 475 villages.
