Yuexiu District is a district in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. It was located at the west of Tianhe District and the east of Liwan District. It was the commercial, political and cultural centre of Guangdong province.[1] The area is famous for its high quality education.[2][3] The Guangdong provincial government and the Guangzhou city government are both located in Yuexiu District. The district was established in 1960, and merged with Dongshan District in 2005.[4]
