「忠」之真義
「忠」字由「中」和「心」組成，其含義本已顯明矣。
心之中為何物？大道是也。
《中庸》云：
喜怒哀樂之未發，謂之中。發而皆中節，謂之和。中也者，天下之大本也。和也者，天下之達道也。致中和，天地位焉，萬物育焉。
《中庸》又云：
天命之謂性；率性之謂道；修道之謂教。道也者，不可須臾離也；可離，非道也。
性者，心生之處也；見心源性海，即見道也。故《孟子·盡心上》云：
存其心，養其性，所以事天也。
《易經·系辭上傳》亦云：
成性存存，道義之門。
《大毗盧遮那成佛神變加持經》云：
若無勢力廣饒益，住法但觀菩提心。佛說此中具萬行，滿足清白純淨法。
《易經·說卦傳》云：
昔者聖人之作《易》也，幽贊於神明而生蓍，參天兩地而倚數，觀變於陰陽而立卦，發揮於剛柔而生爻，和順於道德而理於義，窮理盡性以至於命。
石杏林祖師《還源篇》云：
氣是形中命，心為性內神，能知神氣穴，即是得僊人。
《聖經·新約·馬太福音》云：
清心的人有福了，因為他們必得見神。
"Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God." (Matthew 5:8 KJV)
《聖經·舊約·詩篇》云：
誰能登耶和華的山。誰能站在他的聖所。就是手潔心清，不向虛妄，起誓不懷詭詐的人。
Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. (Psalm 24:3-4 KJV)
《妙法蓮華經》云：
爾時世尊欲重宣此義，而說偈言：
......
諸有修功德，柔和質直者，
則皆見我身，在此而說法
......
若有深心者，清淨而質直，
多聞能總持，隨義解佛語，
如是諸人等，於此無有疑。
《維摩詰所說經》云：
直心是道場，無虛假故。
呂洞賓祖師《賜齊州李希遇詩》（全唐詩.卷858_32）云：
少飲欺心酒，休貪不義財。福因慈善得，禍向巧奸來。
張三豐祖師《玄要篇》云：
絕慮忘思赤子心，歸根復命僊人業。丹田溫暖返童顏，笑煞頑空頭似雪。
《聖經·新約·彼得前書》云：
你們既因順從真理，潔淨了自己的心，以致愛弟兄沒有虛假，就當從心裏彼此切實相愛。從心裏有古卷作。從清潔的心，你們蒙了重生，不是由於能壞的種子，乃是由於不能壞的種子，是藉著神、活潑常存的道。
"Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever." (1 Peter 1:22-23 KJV)
《聖經·新約·馬太福音》云：
不要為自己積攢財寶在地上，地上有蟲子咬，能鏽壞，也有賊挖窟窿來偷。衹要積攢財寶在天上，天上沒有蟲子咬，不能鏽壞，也沒有賊挖窟窿來偷。因為你的財寶在那裏，你的心也在那裏。
"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." (Matthew 6:19-21 KJV)
陳楠祖師《翠虛篇·大道歌》云：
莫損心神須見道。
《黃庭內外玉景經》云：
心為國主五臟王
陳楠祖師《翠虛篇·紫庭經》云：
絳宮天子統乾乾，乾乾飛上九華天。
《地藏菩薩本願經·贊》云：
稽首本然淨心地，無盡佛藏大慈尊
陳楠祖師《翠虛篇·紫庭經》云：
心中自有無價珍。可以生我復死我，既能饑人亦飽人。
《博伽梵歌》中，至尊主說：
我是超靈，居於眾生心中。我就是時間。我是創造，也是毀滅。我是萬物之根基，是息止之地，是永恒的種子。
《大方廣佛華嚴經》云：
若人欲了知，三世一切佛，
應觀法界性，一切唯心造。
大數學家、計算機之父 Blaise Pascal 說過：
能感知神的是心而不是理智。被心，而不是被理智所感知的神，就是信仰所在。
It is the heart which perceives God and not the reason. That is what faith is: God perceived by the heart, not by the reason. (Blaise Pascal)
Blaise Pascal 又說：
無形的神居於每個人的心中。心不能容納任何後天之物，衹能容納創世之神。通過耶穌，我們能感知祂。
There is a God shaped vacuum in the heart of every man which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God, the Creator, made known through Jesus. (Blaise Pascal)
《道德經》云：
多言數窮，不如守中。
「誠」之真義
《孟子·離婁上》云：
誠者，天之道也；思誠者，人之道也。
《黃庭內外玉景經》云：
積功成煉非自然，是由精誠亦由專
薛道光祖師《還丹復命篇》云：
采取須教密，誠心辨醜妍。
崔希範祖師《入藥鏡》云：
但至誠，法自然。
張三豐祖師《玄要篇》云：
慧劍靈，內心誠，敲竹相通始鼓琴。
《後漢書·馬援列傳》云：
開心見誠，無所隱伏。
《黃庭內外玉景經》云：
心部之官蓮含華
淨土發願偈云：
願生西方淨土中，九品蓮華為父母。花開見佛悟無生，不退菩薩為伴侶。
《Zohar Vol12. Vayakhel 》云：
受祝福的是這宇嬤韉拿?.....願吾心向您的Torah（摩西五書）開啟，願這是您的意志......
Blessed be the name of the Master of the universe,......May it beYour will to open my heart to Your Torah......
至此，「忠」、「誠」之真義甚明矣！

《佛學大辭典》【心蓮】：
（術語）顯教譬自性心之清淨，曰心蓮。密教謂肉團心之實形為心蓮。蓮華三昧經曰：「常住妙法心蓮臺。」大日經疏四曰：「凡人汗栗馱心，狀猶如蓮華合而未敷之像，有筋脈約之以成八分。」性靈集七曰：「真言大我本住心蓮，塵沙心數自居覺月。

Your heart is the truth and only way to God. Indeed reading the scirptures are interesting but what is not being openly said are the things that God wants you to know. The spirit of God is the breath of life and all that we are.
Look inside yourself and you will see that the path to God is inside, it always has been. The unity of God is saving yourself, the 10 commandments are not that hard but seem to be a challenge because we follow the books and not ourselves. We are God, as a whole and nothing will ever take you away from that.
